That feeling when you find an artist you really admire and that inspires you, but you look at their creative process and it’s so entirely different from yours that you don’t even know where to begin to try and integrate parts of it in your own art.

Useless theoretical headcanon time

rider-waite:

darkknight-tactician-ayla:

After thinking about how Chrom recognizes Henry as a Plegian in chapter 13 because of his robes and not the MU despite having been with him/her for two years at this point and seeing the tactician’s robes at least once (since reclasses can happen and all) with the same sort of eye motif that’s on Henry’s outfit, I’ve started to think about the possibility of Chrom having partial colorblindness.

I’m not claiming to know about how colorblind people see things, but I did put two images, one of Cordelia’s confession scene since it shows the sleeve of the tactician’s robes, and one of Henry in the barracks showing both his character portrait and is default battle model, through this colorblindness simulator to see how they would look. Below are comparisons of both images, the top images being the originals and the bottom images of the originals with the Red-Blind/Protanopia option selected:

While the pattern on the tactician’s robes is grayed out, the pattern on Henry’s collar is more distinguishable since the gold is brighter and has a greater contrast against the rest of his collar.

I’m wondering if anyone who’s more knowledgeable in colorblindness can offer their insight on whether this theory holds true or not. Any thoughts?

HEYOOOOO

As someone with protanopia I wholeheartedly agree with this. It makes sense for why Frederick is like “ehhhh” but Chrom’s like “WHATS THE BIG DEAL”. I honestly didn’t even see the sleeve pattern until a confession scene, they blended into the background on the battle sprite.

I’m all for protanopic Chrom!!!
